THE LEGEND BEGINS

On June 19 1981, Celine officially started her career by appearing on Michel Jasmin's famous talk-show in Quebec. She sang Ce N'était Qu'un Rêve and spent a few minutes chatting with Jasmin. That was the beginning of the legend that the entire world knows today. During that first year in show business was filled, Celine occasionally appeared in talk shows in Quebec to promote her debut albums La Voix Du Bon Dieu and Céline Dion Chante Noël.

Celine and René dedicated the next few years to build a more solid discography by releasing the albums Tellement J'ai D'amour... (1982), Les Chemins De Ma Maison (1983). While both albums were being promoted in Quebec with TV performances and live concerts, the compilations Du Soleil Au Coeur (1983) and Les Oiseaux Du Bonheur (1984) were released in France to start building Celine's image as an artist in Europe.

After the huge success of Mélanie in 1984 (promoted with TV performances available on this website), TBS released C'est Pour Toi in 1985. Though the album wasn't as commercially successful as the previous ones, songs from it were beautifully performed by Celine in Quebec and France between 1985 and 1986. You can watch both the "C'est Pour Toi" and "Céline Dion en Concert" TV specials on this very website.

After a bit more than a year away from the spotlight, Celine's return with the release of Incognito in 1987 kicked-off an intense promotional campaign of two years. A series of concerts across Quebec, TV specials, a victory at the Eurovision Song Contest, TV performances in both Canada and France... You definitely don't wanna miss the 1987, 1988 and 1989 featured on "Celine Dion Performances"!
